How we’re paid

You don’t pay us a fee. Here’s exactly how we make our money.

Commission from the supplier

When you sign a contract we’ve arranged, the supplier pays us a commission. It’s built into the price you pay, usually as a small amount added to the unit rate (pence per kWh) and sometimes the standing charge.

That commission pays for everything we do: comparing the market, handling the switch, dealing with the supplier if something goes wrong, and coming back to you before your renewal.

You’ll know the amount before you sign

Before you agree to a contract, we’ll tell you how much commission we’ll earn from it and how it’s included in your price. Energy suppliers are also required to show broker costs to small businesses, so you’ll see it on your contract paperwork too.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t charge upfront or sign-up fees.
  • We don’t charge you if you decide not to switch.
  • We don’t hide our commission in the small print.
